The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Nashville, Tenn., 2016-2017
MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR for a non-profit organization that serves charitable needs in 40 counties and oversees 1,050 philanthropic funds. I wrote features that told the stories of our donors and grantees, handled media requests and press releases for major fundraising and grant-giving events, assisted in a major website redesign, managed photo and video production including event, product and headshot photos.

Metropolitan Government of Nashville, Nashville, Tenn., 2013-2016
METRO PHOTOGRAPHER FOR THE CITY OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY. I was responsible for the visual record of the city. I documented city events, handled photo requests from the public and media, provided photographic and editing services for 60 departments including the Office of the Mayor, police and fire departments, the public library and the Nashville.gov website. I helped create and organize the first archiving system for historical photos and acted as administrator for that digital asset management software.

The Tennessean, Nashville, Tenn., 2006-2013
STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER at a 180,000-circulation paper and website serving Middle Tennessee. I photographed the May 2010 Nashville flood, which garnered the staff a Pulitzer Prize finalist award; the aftermath of two deadly tornados; the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas; NCAA and NCAAW basketball tournaments and NFL football. I generated an in-depth story about the lives of those buried in Nashville’s paupers’ graves, including a young John Doe murdered in 1998 who was finally identified in 2013. Awards include Best of Photojournalism, National Headliner Award and Tennessee Associated Press awards.

Knoxville News Sentinel, Knoxville, Tenn., 2004-2006
ONLINE PRODUCER at a 125,000-circulation paper and website in East Tennessee. I produced multimedia special projects using video, audio and still photographs. I handled daily content management and breaking news. My projects included the Tennessee National Guard 278th’s deployment from Camp Shelby and alternative childbirth methods.
